No-frills local zi char eatery, family-owned and operated.

The main value proposition here is:
      1. The sheer breadth of the menu (an extensive lineup of local favorites, they literally have almost everything!!)
      2. It’s one of the increasingly rare zi char spots still open late in post-COVID Singapore

      We ordered:
sambal stingray, moonlight hor fun, Guinness pork ribs, black pepper beef, hotplate tofu, har cheong gai (prawn paste chicken wings), salted egg squid, and sambal stir-fried potato leaves.

Food-wise, most dishes were serviceable, with a couple of bright spots. Nothing was outright bad, but much of it landed squarely in the “mid” and forgettable category.
      – The Guinness pork ribs had a delicious sauce, but the meat quality wasn’t the best (too much bone, not particularly sweet or flavorful meat)
      – The black pepper beef was fine, though it’s hard to go wrong with black pepper sauce
      – The sambal stingray suffered from a surprisingly bland sambal and had no BBQ aroma
      – The har cheong gai had okay shrimp paste but the skin was too hard and the meat was dry and overcooked
      – Lastly, the moonlight hor fun lacked both umami and slickness. Furthermore, despite ordering a large plate, we were only given a single sad egg T_T

Again, none of these are outright bad dishes, just not something I’d choose to eat given the large number of better options nearby (unless it’s late at night!)

If you’re in a rush, it’s also worth noting that service was slow. The place was extremely busy when we visited, and flagging down staff was difficult; we had to walk to the main counter multiple times just to place orders or make requests. That said, the servers were friendly and never rushed us, which helped soften the experience.

Still a solid option for a late-night supper!

3.5 ⭐ for the food, some hits and misses.
Their salted egg prawns were nice, so were the deep fried prawn rolls.
Venison hotplate was average, steamed soon hock was fresh and tender, though costly.

Overall, pretty average zi char, at a higher price point.

5⭐ for the attentive service by the team of ladies which definitely enhanced the dining experience.

Our table dropped ONE chopstick accidentally and almost immediately, without having to prompt, one of the ladies from the service team appeared with a replacement pair of chopsticks of us.

Our requests for assistance with group photos were also happily obliged.

Thank you to the ladies from the service team for offering us such a memorable evening with your lovely hospitality.

Tasty! But long waiting time to order & get the food due to its popularity (came after 7pm, most tables were full)

Ordered: Guinness pork ribs, Cai Po tofu, dry mee sua 😊 quite affordable for Tse char!

Good for a simple hearty Chinese meal

Went round katong area for dinner and finally end up here. Ordered their black source hokkien mee and prawn roll. Wait for 15min finally got my food. Prawn roll taste fine, 7 pcs for $8 and for the hokkien mee was $6, $2 for a cub of chinese tea and their wet tissue was 50 cents.
      They open till 2am everyday.

We ordered 1 small black pepper crab, 1 small duo miao and small hor fun, a bottle of Heineken and 1 coconut. Taste is good but the crab is really expensive. We paid $140+ for 2 pax. Been there several times but first ordering crab. One of the server’s face is as black as the crab. The rest are fine.
