March 18, 2026 at 3:45 pmI have eaten here 4 times, even once when chef Woo was overseas. The team here is amazing.
Every meal has been consistent and wonderful.
The taste and flavour is typically Singaporean Asian flavours but done with European techniques. All flavours are nostalgic and familiar. Chef Woo and his team elevate childhood flavours and execute them to perfection.
It’s a pity they will be closing at the end of March 2026 but I have full confidence that the team of chefs will be embarking on exciting things to come.
I trust that they will fly Singapore’s flag high and showcase our flavours with finesse and sophistication.
Thank you for the memories!

March 18, 2026 at 3:45 pmI’m glad I visited Restaurant Ibid before they shut their doors near end March 2026. This is one of the best meals I have had since the start of 2026, and it reminded me of how good food could taste if you put effort and passion into it. The service by the team was great, and I really enjoyed the wine pairings, especially the tonkatsu with the red that they served.
The boss will be taking a 6 months break and Ibid will likely be reopening as a private dining. I will definitely make another reservation there when it opens.

March 18, 2026 at 3:45 pmCelebrated our anniversary dinner at Ibid. The food was great but the real standout was the service. The team was attentive, friendly and generous to accommodate our special request at the end!

The starters and desserts were lovely. The sesame oil whipped butter was a great start to the meal. The king salmon monaka was bursting in flavour; the gula melaka dessert was fun and tasty to eat; the black rice madeleine was a nice Singaporean twist to a classic French pastry and fantastic when paired with the milk oolong tea (new discovery). My husband really liked the lamb tartare which was the first time trying raw lamb for us!
For the mains, the brown butter was a surprisingly clever touch in the egg custard and elevated the dish, and the halibut was very tender.
Some of the flavours could be more intense for the starters or more calibrated for the fish, and the beef could be fattier and tastier, but overall the food was great and a good fusion of Asian and Western flavours even for a usual fusion food skeptic like me.

March 18, 2026 at 3:45 pmWe did our Christmas Eve dinner this year at Ibid! What pleasant surprise and an experience! Unlike other restaurants, this was an interactive experience with the chef team, with the food and the stories behind it. Very impressed with the team work of the five of them. They communicate briefly, quietly and efficiently. Really enjoying watching them work together and delivering high quality dishes to diff groups of customers! Highly recommend for a relaxed and engaging dining experience.

March 18, 2026 at 3:45 pmWe had such a wonderful dining experience at Restaurant Ibid. My parents and I truly enjoyed every part of the meal, from the beautifully crafted dishes to the warm and thoughtful service.
What made the evening especially memorable was the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with Chef, which made the experience feel so personal and genuine. The team also went the extra mile to celebrate my mum’s birthday, which meant so much to our family and made the night even more special.
Thank you for the heartfelt hospitality, beautiful food and unforgettable experience.❤️
