This was my first time going to KOMA. I’ve heard a lot about this place, so I decided to bring a large group of 12 to try the lunch menu.

If you’re a Marina Bay Sands member, you get a three-course meal for the price of two, which is quite a good deal considering the price.

I recommend booking this place early because it’s always very busy, even during lunchtime, especially for larger groups. You may need to leave your credit card as a security deposit.

We made a point to order everything from the two-course menu without paying the extras, so you can see the presentation in my photographs.

The standout dishes were the Vegetable Tempura as an appetiser, the Pan-Seared Seabass and Truffle Fried Rice as main courses, and the Lemon Yuzu dessert.

Many people who visit this restaurant order the Bonsai as a dessert, which is very pretty. So, if you come in a big group, I would definitely recommend that. it’s quite a sight.

Additionally, we received very good service from the private room upstairs and the ladies at the door, who accommodated us even though there was a complication with our bookings.

Overall this was a memorable place for an end of year lunch with a big group. We stayed on for approx 2.5hrs and had a great time.

      Thanks KOMA

Amazing dinning experience, first time to visit and will definitely make a point to come back. Going inside the hall to the restaurant is like being transported to another place! What a place! Absolutely delicious food, with great service. The vibe is great. We highly enjoyed our experience and they have some fun drink cocktails too! Thank you to the whole team that made our night special.

Atmosphere is stunning there is no question about it. The food however, could have been better. The sesame cucumber salad had no taste of sesame and overall lacked flavour. So did the vegetarian sushi. The temporary corn was nice and the beef short ribs were okay. The food was simply one dimensional and lacked complex flavours, especially for the price. There is a limited amount of vegetarian options, and not a great variety of desserts.

We recently visited KOMA to celebrate my birthday, and while the food didn’t quite live up to my expectations, the ambience truly made up for it. The interior design is done with such taste and class—absolutely stunning. Loved the ceiling; it’s a real showstopper and adds so much character to the space.

The cocktails were another highlight of the evening. They were well-crafted and tasted really good, especially the Umeshu Sunrise and Sawayaka Sake—both refreshing and perfectly balanced and not overly sweet or bland.

The cake and desserts were also impressive, with rich chocolate that was thick yet not overly sweet. The presentation and plating of the dishes were beautifully done, making everything look very appetising.

Overall, while the food could improve, KOMA’s ambience, cocktails, and desserts made the birthday celebration memorable.

The best service I’ve had from any restaurant in the past 12-18 months.

From the moment we were seated until we left, it was a very comfortable experience. From menu recommendations to the small interactions, the service punched above its expectations for a restaurant such as KOMA’s.

Kudos to Chloe, Kristine, and the staff for the above.

The sea bass was surprisingly balanced across the taste of the fish, the sauce atop, and the vegetable between the fish. Typically for sea bass dishes, quite a bit of the taste is masked by the other flavourings, but not in this case.

Would say the black cod is overall a better and tastier dish, would recommend that, but for a sea bass it was well done.

The uni carbonara was a pleasant surprise as it was thick enough but not overwhelming or “jelak”. Wouldn’t say that the uni is anything spectacular, but the carbonara sauce definitely is. The noodles itself are al dante, one that was done well at that.

Only caveat would be if you’re not one that appreciates the semi-loud EDM-esque music, it may be a little louder than your liking. Not surprisingly given KOMA is run by Tao Group, which operates Marquee beside so…take it as you will.

      Pricing: ~S$100/pax

      Reservation: Highly Recommended
