Godmama Parkway Parade (level 1, near Bata) offers a refreshing modern twist on Peranakan cuisine. We had a large group, so we managed to sample quite a few dishes.

The Godmama Crayfish Nyonya Yellow Mee was a standout, served with Sambal Nanas Timum. It reminded me of my mum’s Birthday noodles. The appetisers, including Ngoh Hiang and Nyonya fried chicken wings with special belachan mayo, were also delicious.

The Lambshank Rendang was incredibly aromatic and tender, falling off the bone. The Sambal Udang Petai and Sayur Lodeh were flavourful. My favourites were the Babi Assam (tamarind stew pork belly), Ikan Nanas (pineapple fish stew), and the must-try Godmama Nasi Ulam (Nyonya 8 Herb Rice).

Do pair your food with the special cocktails with a Peranakan twist!

For dessert, we indulged in the Sticky Red Date pudding with ice cream and my favourite, the Pulut Hitam Panna Cotta style, which was simply divine!

Service was great too. Best to make a reservation!
If you are in town try Godmama at Funan Mall too

We enjoyed a sumptuous lunch on 8 January to celebrate my birthday, generously treated by my friends. We loved every dish recommended by the supervisor, Calvin. The highlights included Nonya Fried Wings, Ikan Gerang Assam, Sayur Lodeh, Nasi Ulam Herb Rice, and Achar. Not forgetting the desserts; Pulut Hitam Panna Cotta & Gingerflower & Lychee Sorbet. Everything was flavourful and beautifully prepared, making the celebration truly memorable. Last but not least, the ambience is comfortable and well-designed. Will come again & highly recommended this Modern Peranakan restaurant.

Parankan food? Yes. Godmama authentic Parankan food at the most reasonable pricing. Try their 五香。Sambal belachan must try. Nicely cooked rice where you see every grains. Attentive servers. Clean environment. Conveniently located below Fan Toast.

We really like their ayam buah keluak, babi assam and chap chye. Glad that we made a reservation because they were fully booked when we arrived at 1:30pm on a Saturday. The service was very quick and friendly. We also like the keropok ikan and achar. The dipping sauce served with keropok ikan was interesting. I’m guessing it’s a combination of sambal and mayonnaise. Overall, it is a nice and cozy place to have very good Peranakan dishes. Will definitely come back for more soon.

Located under the escalator, which parkway management probably was trying to maximise rental space.

Food was not to my liking as the 3 dishes we chose were sourish (not spoilt), but they were the Chef’s favourite. It was so different from the peranakan dishes we had in Penang. Maybe as the name suggested: ‘modern peranakan’..confirm it was too modern for us.

Even the desserts, the pulut hitam was totally tasteless, not sure was it because the chef forgot to add some sugar. If u like desserts, just go for the Chempedek bread and pudding, that’s the only nice one. Durian creme brulee was also meh.

However, their service staff were polite and engaging.
