Dashi GoGo is a place I truly want to love because the food quality is genuinely good. Every dish I ordered was flavourful, well-presented, and clearly prepared with care. From the rich broth to the perfectly cooked mains, it’s obvious the kitchen knows what it’s doing. Portion sizes are reasonable and the prices are pretty standard for a town-area restaurant, so I didn’t feel overcharged for what I received.

However, the overall dining experience was let down by the environment. The restaurant gets extremely crowded, especially during peak hours, and the tight seating makes it feel uncomfortable at times. On my visit, some patrons had a noticeable smell of sweat, which unfortunately affected the enjoyment of the meal. With such close table arrangements, this becomes more apparent and hard to ignore.

If Dashi GoGo could improve ventilation, crowd control, and overall seating comfort, it would easily be a five-star experience. The food already meets the mark — it’s the atmosphere that needs attention. For now, I still recommend coming here for the food, but try to visit during off-peak hours for a more pleasant experience.

I am writing a review for the clubbing experience:
      1. There is no dance floor. Everyone squeezes through the tiny gap between the sofas (for those who paid a significant extra for a table) and the bar. There is virtually no space. Be expected to be squeezed into a tiny room.

      2. The music is not the best and very random. Terrible transitions, sometimes good songs, but never plays the drop. Been there 3 times, always the same.

      3. The crowd tend to be very young.

      Here are the positives:
      1. You can see a view of the CBD before entering the club in the pool area. Kinda cool. Honestly, I really like this aspect.

      2. Three times that I have been there, there was never a line. Pretty great if you hate lining up before entering a club.

      3. Tickets came with two free drinks. (Albeit watered down, but I was cool with that).

      4. Probably one club that’s nice to go once, but that’s it. (As clubbing options in Singapore is limited and generally bad, this place is not worse than the next club in town – minus the no dance floor aspect being atrocious).

I would give 0 stars if I could. I am Singaporean Bengali and my other two Singaporean Bengalis waited at the queue for more than 45 minutes. Once we got the the front of the queue we were told it was full house. So we waited 30 minutes more. Eventually one of my friend got impatient and left, and immediately the people behind us were given access to go. What the hell???

We found a bouncer at the back of the queue and my friend asked for an explaination. The bouncer said and I quote “the management has decided that it isnt the night for you 3 tonight”. What the hell does that even mean? We were behaved and acted approrpriately all the way throughout the queing process, so what did management see in us to pursue such an under-handed tactic to get us to leave without telling us to leave? Is it because we are brown? Utterly ridiculous and wasted so much time on what was supposed to be a fun night.

Dashi no go is more apt.

Dashi Go Go – A Refreshing Shift from the Usual Saturday Routine

We had initially booked Little Birdie, but upon arrival, found that the venue lacked a view—a bit of a letdown for what we hoped would be a vibrant Saturday evening. Trusting our instincts, we made a spontaneous switch and popped over to Dashi Go Go instead—and we’re glad we did.

The change in scenery was a refreshing one. Dashi Go Go offered an energetic vibe with upbeat dance music that set a lively tone for the evening. It’s the kind of place that lets you sink into the rhythm and stay put, and that’s exactly what we did.

However, there’s room for improvement when it comes to food and drinks. The menu felt limited, especially for a weekend spot with such a dynamic atmosphere. We were hoping for more variety—perhaps some sliders, burgers, or creative bar bites to match the vibe. The drink selection also felt a bit sparse, missing the chance to elevate the experience with more mixology flair or specialty cocktails.

Still, what Dashi Go Go lacks in selection, it makes up for with its atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place with good energy, music to move to, and a fresh, upbeat crowd, it’s worth a visit. Just don’t come too hungry—or hoping for a cocktail adventure.

Bouncer was abrupt and rude. Many other reviews state the same. So was one of the ticket counter staff. I understand being stern with those intoxicated but I arrived sober and was appalled at how I was spoken to and argued with. Also note that a lot of these reviews are 5 star because staff ask for them in exchange for free entry, so people drunkenly provide lots of 5 star reviews before even entering . Nice music though and pretty place. Just soured at the start by these staff
