We were studying in the cafe from 10.30am to 5pm and we really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the cafe. It was situated at a really nice corner, near the beautiful intricate Peranakan houses. There were plugs under some tables, convenience for those doing work. We stayed for quite a long duration but the staff there was really nice, they didn’t chase us out but we made sure that there was empty tables for other customers at any point in time before deciding if we could stay in the cafe. The food was really good as well, recommend the mentaiko fries (large portion for abt $15) and their home made tiramisu,, damn good! Can ask staff for wifi!

Café Wabi Sabi truly surprised me with their menu and the overall experience. The place gets super busy during the weekend — and now I understand why. I couldn’t decide what to order at first, so I asked one of the staff for a recommendation. He suggested the Don Buta lunch set, and wow… it felt like having a meal straight from Japan. The flavour, the quality, the presentation — absolutely perfect.

The price is very reasonable considering the portion, the taste, and the ingredients they use. I originally planned to try their dessert as well, but I was so full that I had to save it for my next visit. And yes, I will definitely be coming back.

The ambience is cozy with a clean, Japanese-inspired atmosphere, and despite the crowd, the service remained helpful and attentive. A great spot for anyone craving comforting Japanese dishes with a touch of authenticity.

Highly recommended — especially if you come hungry!

We got the Salmon Mentai Don and the Japanese Curry Soba with Pork Katsu. The don was excellent, salmon was well cooked and soft, though I felt that the mentaiko could be more generous. The Japanese Curry Soba had good curry flavour. However the addition of tobiko in this dish was a little weird, it did not go well together and added a weird crunch and sour flavour to the salty curry. The Pork Katsu is weirdly very soft and mushy, almost soggy-like, but the exterior is very crunchy and a beautifully fried golden brown colour. A beautiful cafe with very friendly staff, but the flavour of the food could be better in my opinion!

A pleasant cafe with friendly staff who make you feel welcome right away. The atmosphere is nice and inviting, though it can get a bit noisy so don’t plan on whispering secrets here!

The food is enjoyable enough, but nothing particularly stands out. It’s not a culinary adventure, but it’s a comfortable and reliable choice if you just want a casual meal.

Between the good service, the welcoming atmosphere, and a few solid dishes, it’s definitely worth a visit even if it doesn’t quite reach five stars.

Creamy hojicha and matcha, hojicha sweeter than matcha. Ample seating, chill ambience. 2000s hits playing in the background. Only started getting crowded around 11am on Sunday. Complimentary water self service. Right next to colourful peranakan shop houses. Traffic can get slightly noisy but largely bearable. Have sockets for laptops.
