March 18, 2026 at 4:15 pmTried their Christmas buffet, for $110 the spread was abit small. Seafood selection was fresh, babi pongteh was extremely good (definitely a must try). Carving station choices was so-so but the sauces very flavourful. Dessert spread was by far the biggest, the cakes were not overly sweet and were extremely delicious.

March 18, 2026 at 4:15 pmWe had kueh pie tee(so tiny that I dun know what am I eating), ayam buah keluak (taste is perfect but chicken is so tough and way overcooked), Beef rendang (sauce doesn’t go, too fusion, I hope they know what they are curating and for that kind of price, it is exortion), chap chye (over cooked with taste that is not so peranakan). Their portions are so small, not for sharing.

March 18, 2026 at 4:15 pmOnly had drinks and fries and snack there. Very nice decor ambience. Cozy seats. Happy hour offers one for one cocktail. The gin tonic I can’t taste any alcohol so we switch the wine instead. Also asked for three rounds of peanuts refill and they happily provided.

March 18, 2026 at 4:15 pmTried their Baba’s Set Lunch ($15++ per pax) during their promotion period till 31 March 2026, and I think it’s quite a solid deal especially for the Katong area and hotel setting!
The restaurant sits within Hotel Indigo, and the vibes are really nice! Great Service, and big bright windows for natural sunlight to come in, modern Peranakan touches, and it almost feels like a stylish heritage bar-restaurant hybrid. Very comfortable for a weekday lunch.
The set lunch (available daily 11:30am–3:00pm, promo till 31 March 2026) comes with:
🍲 Soup of the Day – The rice wine flavour was quite strong, so something to note if you’re sensitive to that. The chicken was rolled into a log and sliced, and was tender and well-cooked.
🥬 Chap Chye – Braised long enough to draw out the natural sweetness of the cabbage, with dried shrimp giving it savoury depth. Comforting and homely.
🦋 Blue Pea Jasmine Rice with sambal – The sambal was properly spicy and one of my favourite components.
🥒 Nyonya Achar – Crunchy, slightly sour, and great for balancing the richer dishes.
🍗 Ayam Buah Keluak – The chicken was more tender than I expected. The buah keluak sauce had that earthy, deep, slightly bitter and nutty aroma that defines the dish. The garlic confit on top was soft and fragrant.
For the main options (you choose one):
🥩 Beef Cheek Rendang – Very tender and gelatinous, deeply spiced and rich. Pairs very well with rice.
🐟 Assam Curry Seabass – Fish portion slightly small, but the assam gravy had a pleasant pineapple tartness and came with a generous amount of vegetables.
🦐 Asian Curry Tiger Prawn (+$3++) – The prawns were huge, and the curry had a strong turmeric-forward aroma.
The mains featured in this set lunch will also continue to be available à la carte after the promotion ends, so you can still order them even beyond 31 March 2026.
Overall, for $15++ in this area, I find it quite reasonable given the ambience and variety. Portions are moderate but satisfying for lunch!

March 18, 2026 at 4:15 pmDear Baba Chew,
I am writing to request for a $8.40 refund on a matter of principality. I wanted to purchase a lunch set for 2 at $23++. However, I realised post payment that I was charged $36 for 2x 1 lunch set.
Your UX/UI on the site was misleading – there was absolutely no option to buy the $23 lunch set for 2. Please refer to the screenshots of your site below. There were only options to choose the number of guests and it leads you to purchase. Under Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act(CPFTA) and Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act, POFMA, this isn’t allowed.
Whether it is a genuine error or an act of deception, I hope you rectify this. Also, there was poop on the toilet seat – as your restaurant rides under the premium tag of Indigo, this is not acceptable.
PS – your manager onsite apologised for the error but the onus is on corporate.
