March 18, 2026 at 4:22 pmI’ve been back a few times and have worked through some of the chapter 6 menu.
The drinks are thoughtfully crafted and presented more like artisanal cocktails than standard café offerings.
My personal favourites are the Crema al Hojicha and the Mont Blanc, though the rest of the menu is still worth exploring if you enjoy something more concept-driven.
The drinks aren’t just flavoured lattes; they’re built with the same mindset you’d expect from an artisanal bar program. Even coming from the F&B space, I find the pricing surprisingly modest for the amount of thought and prep that likely goes into each cup. I would comfortably pay more for this level of craft.
Despite the long queues, operations feel well streamlined. Drinks come out faster than you’d expect, and the flow behind the bar looks coordinated rather than rushed. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and they take the time to explain the drinks if it’s your first visit, which makes the experience approachable instead of overwhelming.
That said, some combinations may lean experimental for more traditional coffee drinkers, so it helps to go in with an open mind.
Overall, worth a try. I’m hoping to eventually meet the brains and passion behind the concept. They gained a new fan!

March 18, 2026 at 4:22 pmBig Short Coffee at Fowlie Road offers a refreshingly sophisticated coffee experience that feels both inventive and refined. Inspired by a cocktail-like approach to coffee making, each cup is thoughtfully crafted with precision, creativity, and flair…turning coffee into an experience rather than just a drink.
The atmosphere is effortlessly stylish yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot to slow down and savour the artistry behind every pour. From flavour balance to presentation, the attention to detail is evident and impressive.
A must-visit for coffee enthusiasts who appreciate innovation and a touch of mixology-inspired creativity in their brew.
Big Short Coffee truly stands out as a destination where craftsmanship and imagination meet.

March 18, 2026 at 4:22 pmA super small coffee corner that’s very hyped, so expect a long queue. The indoor space is extremely packed, and you’ll be squeezing with others if you choose to drink inside. The drinks are very creative and definitely out of the box, but unfortunately not really to my liking.
They serve the coffee in a fine-dining style, preparing it right in front of you, though the crowded indoor setting makes it hard to clearly hear the staff’s introduction. Paying $24 for two very small cups with a fancy presentation is something I’d probably only try once.
If you enjoy trying something unique and unconventional, you can give it a try. I tried their Pisang Kikkoman and Up and Away.

March 18, 2026 at 4:22 pmChapter Six: Autumn 2025
This seasonal menu might just be their most fun one yet.
Pisang Kikkoman: Starts with a surprising umami hit, then mellows into a light, fragrant banana finish. Unexpected but so well balanced.
Peanut Milk: Creamy, nutty and comforting, with coffee and crunchy textures that make every sip interesting.
Up And Away: Easily my favourite. Bright, refreshing passionfruit and orange… and yes, it changes your voice.
Mont Blanc 6.0: Aromatic, floral and elevated, with nutmeg and mace aromas sprayed onto your hand to enhance the experience.
Playful, thoughtful and full of little surprises — this is Big Short Coffee doing what they do best.

March 18, 2026 at 4:22 pmWe got there off-peak so didn’t have to deal with the queues. It’s not a coffee place in the sense that you can’t really order a coffee, it’s more of a coffee-based cocktail bar. Iced drinks with lots of interesting toppings & mixers. The drinks were delicious & service super friendly, but more in a “after lunch sweet treat” sort of way.
