March 18, 2026 at 3:47 pmThe newly upgraded Michelin-starred NAE:UM serves chef Louis version of dishes looking back at his Korean heritage. But it has influences from his global journey too. Even though contemporary in spirit, each dish remains rooted in Korean flavours, ingredients, and personal memories. This was a beautiful adventure. One of my personal favourites were the Korean buckwheat with white kimchi, chives, and perilla oil dressing layered with a cured tobiko sauce and pickled old cucumber, sweet mountain turnip cut into flower-like petals on top of the noodles. With this the most delicious grilled morel mushroom dumpling I ever had stuffed with a rice cake filled โ duckgalbiโ (duck meat patty) and glazed with gochujang.

March 18, 2026 at 3:47 pmWe had a really amazing time at the Hideaway dining area on the 2nd floor. Minimum spending to book the private dining area is easily matched if you have 8-10 guests. Staff are very welcoming and the chef and his team made the whole evening very lovely. We started dinner closer to 7pm and even at a slow leisurely pace, dinner was over before 10pm. We never felt rushed and everyone was so accommodating. Would definitely be back again.

March 18, 2026 at 3:47 pmVisited this restaurant after they underwent a revamp and introduced an upgraded menu! Out of all the dishes we had, my favourites are:
๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐จ๐ง & ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฎ โ buckwheat noodle served along side a mushroom stuffed with minced meat
๐๐๐๐ง๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ โ burdock rice with mushroom soup and banchan
๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ฎ โ truffle with white chocolate dessert
Dishes were not too heavy and were served at a comfortable pace. The place is super pretty too (even the toilet!) so definitely a restaurant worth checking out.

March 18, 2026 at 3:47 pmI had an incredible experience at Naeum. The space is cozy, the course was cohesive, and both the wine and non-alcoholic pairings were excellent and highly recommended. Plating was clean, precise, and visually striking. Price is reasonable and hospitality was satisfactory.
Starters:
The dongchimi tomato looked simple but had complex flavours. Fresh, tangy, and a brilliant way to start the course. Easily, my favourite starter.
The gwanja seaweed rosette offered unique textures, complementing the first starter.
The toran black bean contrasted crisp and soft elements beautifully.
The sokkori oxtail was elegant and prepared the palate perfectly for the mains.
Starters were strong and memorable.
Subsequent courses:
Domi seabream lemon, and daikon was light, delicate, and harmonious, elevating the meal and making it playful and memorable. One of the highlights of my meal, love the fish.
The memilmyeon and mandu paired earthy morel dumplings with noodles and tangy kimchi. There was also subtle floral turnip slices which added charm to the dish.
The jeonbok which was jeju abalone, seaweed vinaigrette, and caviar was intricate and luxurious. The drops of flavours were also precisely placed without a single smudge. Amazing.
The nobchi with squash, and maeuntang was flavorful with its rich butter sauce. Squash presentation was good.
The Iberico ribeye was satisfying with the onion and perilla layers though I feel the layering was not necessary, I appreciate the touch of details in making it look more presentable. Personally felt that if the onion was infused into the dish and not visible, it would have been more palatable.
The hansang with deodeok, mushroom gomtang, and banchan felt comforting and homely. As an asian myself, I connected with it.
Desserts
The darae changmyeon was refreshing and bright. Lively contrast to the richer courses and worked well as a palate cleanser.
The daechu, truffle, and white chocolate was indulgent, sinful and sweet. Love the charcoal biscuit base, it was a good touch.
The petit four ended the meal playfully with a mix of traditionally elevated flavours. Absolutely love the rice cake. Mugwort flavour and the rice puff base was something new and interesting to me.
The meal was thoughtful, harmonious, and thoroughly enjoyable. The only minor note is the cake. The base was slightly soggy and tough to bite, but everything else more than made up for it. The inventive play of textures and complementary flavors made each dish engaging. It is a great story.
I will definitely return. Thank you, Naeum.

March 18, 2026 at 3:47 pmOne of my standout dining experiences of 2025! Nae:Um, a Korean-Western fusion restaurant thatโs a must-visit for people seeking healthy yet indulgent flavors. Cant miss it if you are fermented food lover.
some highlights of the meal:
– we began with a tomato soup infused with kimchi, offering a unique twist on traditional kimchi brine. Unlike the usual sharp, pungent bite, this soup is velvety, with a balanced, mild sour-sweet profile that gently awakens the palate for the courses to come.
– some of my favorite dishes include The domi (red snapper), memilmyeon & mandu (buckwheat noodles and dumplings), are nothing short of exceptional, each dish showcasing a harmonious blend of textures and bold, authentic flavors.
– The main course, featuring Iberico pork, is a revelation. Cooked to a perfect pink hue, itโs as tender and succulent as premium hanwoo beef. The accompanying onions, caramelized to a fruit-like sweetness, elevate the dish to another level.
– doedoek is kinda ginsen like root vegetables full of fibers, quite healthy.
