Not your usual ‘atas’ local fanfare. The menu was carefully curated to embed all the flavours of the diverse Singapore culture. You will find the flavours familiar but yet unique given the ‘subtle twist’ from the kitchen. For me, the sauces were the highlight? Strong flavours and at the time super elegant. The table setting is not fancy but captures the old and the new using wooden plates, bowls and an occasional marble dishes. I have had wonderful dining experience at all levels around the world during my corporate days. This experience and the flavours brings me back to good old nostalgic feeling of Singapore during the Satay Club days…as close to home as it get! Thank you Jiak Kim House.

Excellent set lunch with great value for money. The ambience is stylish yet relaxed, service is attentive without being intrusive, and every dish was well executed.
Perfect spot for a quality lunch that feels both refined and affordable. Highly recommended. We just had the set lunch but would be an ideal date spot for dinner too.

Nice vibe, with a quiet and spacious setting that’s great for chilling out.

We let the staff recommend what would be suitable for dinner.
The black cod meunière was a standout dish, perfectly cooked and very fresh.

The wagyu ribeye, however, was quite chewy and stringy, to the point we gave up rather than strain our jaws.

For dessert, the Ondeh Ondeh was a perfect closing chapter to the meal, nicely balanced and not too sweet.
Snow Peak was an interesting idea, using Moutai as the ice cream base, but the overall taste was on the sour side.

Tucked away in a little obscure corner of Jiak Kim street, a quiet almost non descript entrance opens up into a grand, French bistro-like setting. Welcomed by a beautiful well stocked bar, and high ceilings, and marble tables with both couch and bar counter seating – this nonya European fusion styled restaurant really beckons you. We went for lunch, and I started with an oatmeal stout for drinks (supplied by brewerkz). They started us with two mochi cheesy toasted bites complimented with seaweed butter. Unusual but surprisingly good. For food, we did the triple garlic pork spinalis (executed well with a slight pink tinge, though taste was slightly bland 6/10, and ‘fu-pi’ tacos (perfectly balanced, original and left us wanting more 10/10), for mains we did the lobster kombu pasta with parm froth (good but did not taste the ‘Asian’ in the dish 8/10), and mdm Lee’s lotus rice and Ayam taliwang (presentation and taste perfection, the chicken was grilled to a beautiful consistency of crunch and still had a good deal of juiciness within. Rice was slurped up – the taste on its own merits this dish greatly 10/10). For dessert, cempedak creme brûlée (most original and delicious interpretation of an Asian dessert I ever tried (12/10), and the winter melon ice cream with grass jelly with sweet potato mochi (mochi was surprisingly delicious , and the ice cream was more subtle to the palate; more like a palate cleanser (8/10). We will be back for more. This place is too good of a secret to be kept. I have not seen another place like this. Come !

A wonderful dining experience overall. Delicious food, excellent service by Eric, and great ambiance. It was not too crowded for a NY’s eve, making the 2hrs dinner really pleasant. Eric really did the best job to help us enjoy the meal. Chef Memories was much tastier than it might look, Garlic Iberico Pork was nicely cooked, Quail Panggang and Black Forest was just right. My husband and I both agreed that the Wagyu Ribeye with Thai sauce was the star of the meal. And we were glad that we saved some room for the Jiak Kim dessert! Just perfect to end the year. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes.
